Emma\u2019s ingenuity in the face of difficulty shows how seemingly small actions can make a large impact, no matter your age. <\/p>\n<p>Emma Yang is passionate about innovation. As an enthusiastic coder, she founded ConcussionChecker, an app to help the early detection of concussions and Timeless, an app to help Alzheimer\u2019s patients lead better daily lives. Emma\u2019s achievements include winning the Technovation Challenge, becoming the first ever middle school mentee of the Wolfram Mentorship Program and participating in the White House\u2019s Opportunity Project. She was also awarded the Michael Perelstein Memorial Discover Your Passion Scholarship and named one of New York\u2019s 10 Under 20 Young Innovators to Watch. In her free time, Emma enjoys reading, biking, and going to movies with her dad. She is also an introvert and enjoys being one! Emma is a strong advocate for STEM and wants to encourage all girls to explore their interests in science and technology.<\/p>\n<p>This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
